A good fit for your home?
A garden room works well when some separation from the house is part of the brief. Think about who will use it, at what time of day, and what must happen there.
A desk room, a workshop and an exercise room need different light, storage, acoustics and servicing. Be specific before choosing a footprint or appearance.

Build around the intended use
Agree the foundations, structure, weather protection, insulation, openings, electrical provision and finishes. Heating, cooling, data connections and plumbing need an explicit decision.
Include the journey there
Paths, steps, planting changes and making good after installation should be visible in the scope. The room is only useful if reaching it is convenient.

Know the house before the work
Siting, trees, ground conditions, boundaries, access and service routes all affect the proposal. Establish what assessments and permissions are needed for the intended use.
Describe any future change of use at the start. A room designed for daytime work should not quietly become a different type of accommodation without proper assessment.

Test views in both directions, not only the view from the new room. Keep useful outdoor areas and consider how the building will age beside planting.
Balance openness with focus
Glazing can connect the room to the garden, while a solid wall gives storage, privacy and a calmer background for work.

Note where power and data might be available and which outdoor areas should remain untouched.
